A1 Course duration (1+1)

CATEGORY A 1- AEROPLANE TURBINE

Category A1 license is Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license to cover Jet Engine Powered Aeroplanes. The holder of a category A1 license directly employable without Type-Rating. He is authorized to issue 'CRS' (Certificate of Release to Service) to an aircraft after minor scheduled line maintenance and simple detect rectifications as per the authorization issued by the Aircraft Maintenance Organisation or Airlines employing him/her. He can be utilized on any type of aircraft (Jet engine powered aircraft) in Line Maintenance for flight departures.

B1.1 Course duration (2+2)

CATEGORY B 1.1- AEROPLANE TURBINE

Category B1.1 Basic Licence includes all the privileges of category A1. After attaining Type Rating for a particular aircraft, the person becomes a full-fledged Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to cover maintenance, repair, replacement, or rectification of structure, engine, mechanical, electrical & Hydraulic systems for that type of aircraft. He/She is also authorized to cover Avionics systems requiring simple tests without troubleshooting. This category license holder is employable in line maintenance as well as Major Maintenance for the type of Aircraft.

B2 Course duration (2+2)

CATEGORY B2- AVIONICS

Category B2 Basic Licence includes privilege of issuing Certificates of Release to Service after carrying out maintenance on Avionics systems requiring major and minor operational and functional checks including troubleshooting and rectification of the unserviceable electrical instrument & radio components fitted on an aircraft. The services of this Category B2 Aircraft maintenance Engineer is utilized during the Line Maintenance Engineer is utilized during the Line Maintenance and Base maintenance activity carried out on a particular type of aircraft.
